Online water services
Booking of Water Tanker & Water Tank Refill, and New / Change / Cleaning / Shifting of Ferrule connections are available online (from 9th March 2026) so citizens need not visit Poura Bhawan.
PHE department is responsible for construction of new Water Lines, new Sewerage Lines and new Drainage Lines along with maintenance of existing ones. PHE department is also responsible for providing Ferrule (Water), Sewerage and Drainage connection to newly constructed buildings.
New water, sewerage and drainage connection
- On sanction of the Building Completion Certificate, a copy is sent to the PHE department by the Building Plan department along with the sanctioned Water, Sewerage and Drainage Plan.
- The applicant submits the specific application form for Water, Sewerage and Drainage connection, addressed to the Executive Engineer (EE), with the Building Completion Certificate and sanctioned plan.
- Department staff open a new file and send it to the Sub Assistant Engineer (SAE), who inspects the site and checks the construction against the sanctioned plan.
- In case of discrepancy the applicant is informed by a letter signed by the EE and directed to comply.
- After a successful inspection the SAE records remarks along with the fees for the connection. The water line diameter is decided from the type of building and population density, and the fee is fixed from a predefined chart.
- On approval of the EE a challan is generated; the applicant pays at the bank and submits a copy of the receipt.
- On confirmation of payment the contractor of the area is directed to provide the connection. The connection is provided within 2 days of payment confirmation. Contractors are selected for a specific area for a year.
- For any issue with the connection the applicant can submit a written complaint to the EE, who allots it to the SAE through the AE for enquiry. Based on the SAE's remarks a penalty may be imposed on the contractor, who is directed to rectify the mistake.

Booking of water tanker & garbage vat
- Separate registers are maintained for booking of water tanker and garbage vat.
- The applicant submits an application at the counter of the Corporation.
- Counter staff check availability on the requested day in the Booking Register.
- If available, a challan is generated as per the rate chart and the applicant pays at the bank, then submits the bank receipt copy at the counter.
- One copy of the challan is kept in the file as booking reference and the other is returned to the applicant with the booking confirmation. Details are recorded in the booking register.
- The tanker driver is instructed to supply water at the required venue on the specified date and time.
